Lead Free
RoHS Compliance
As Your chosen partner for Electronics Manufacturing Services, Nemco is committed to providing RoHS compliant products to your specifications.
From 1st July 2006 WEEE and RoHS directives state that components and assemblies must be "lead free" although at present consultation phases are still taking place to decide exemptions and relaxations.
You, our clients are the OEM and design authority for your products and the legislation is clear that it is your responsibility to ensure compliance of your products by the relevant cut-off date.
Having said that, DON'T PANIC ! We are here to help you !
We started our "Lead Free Roadmap" in 2003 and have been producing RoHS compliant electronics assemblies for some time now. A program of on-going process and equipment review means that we can assist you with recommendations for pcb finishes and also the current situation with regard to component availability dates
In return we ask that you do not sit back and leave your product compliance up in the air, your design teams should be investigating the strategic components within your current and future designs and checking for obsolescence issues. Drawings, parts lists and gerber files will also need to be amended and updated as changes are made to meet RoHS compliance.
If your products are exempt or are the subject of an "end of life" build then we will still be able to manufacture them but you will need to advise us of your exemption so that we can supply non compliant product under a concession.
Whatever the requirement, our (cross functional RoHS team) can advise on the best course of action, call us now to arrange a consultation.
