Cable Cell Leader

We are looking for a Cable Cell Leader to join our team here at Nemco. Working in the GA&Cables department, you will be supporting our GA&Cables Planner/Supervisor. 

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

Work with the GA&Cables Planner/Supervisor to ensure shop floor production of cables meet shipping deadlines and are completed efficiently to meet or exceed quoted times. 

To suggest and implement process improvements that keep the Cable Cell competitive with the industry standard times.

To carry out trouble shooting of the cable build process to ensure the targets are met.
Build cables as part of the Cable Cell.

MAIN DUTIES

To build cables efficiently to meet target times, shipping dates and quality.

To support the quotes team for assembly of new cable products by assessing tooling requirements and times, where support is required. 

Assist with planning/scheduling new jobs and processing contract reviews. Identify resource and skills limitations that may prevent the plans from being achieved.

To set and manage the time scales of all work carried out as agreed with management.

Liaise with GA&Cables Planner/Supervisor, Unit A Planning Supervisor, Production Engineering, Inspectors and Test to ensure that machine time and test facilities are available to meet the requirements of the production schedule.

Support the kit checking process to help chase for any known shortages.

To check all documentation available for new product and give feedback for any future build packs.  Assess for any ergonomic issues.

To support production of build documentation for ease of manufacture.

To provide skills training for production operatives on cables.  Oversee the work undertaken within the Cable Cell.  Analyse jobs during build to ensure quoted times can be met.

To suggest improvements such as tooling aids for ease of manufacture and alleviate any ergonomic issues.

To implement the layout of the line or cell to reduce ergonomic issues and increase production efficiencies. 

Liaise with the GA&Cables Planner/Supervisor, so that any needed scheduling changes are accommodated by changes to the production plans.  Where the changed requirements cannot be achieved, or if production slippage is likely to occur due to other causes, discuss with GA&Cables Planner/Supervisor, and set priorities to minimize customer dissatisfaction.

Operate continuous improvement techniques in all areas.

Follow and uphold the Company’s environmental policy, procedures and instructions in order to minimize environmental impacts from its activities.

In addition, the jobholder may be required to perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor/manager from time to time.
